HIL 2025 Afar Cohort Graduated!

Closing 2025 with the graduation of our Afar cohort, 24 health professional women graduated through the High Impact Leadership (HIL) Training marking a significant milestone in advancing women’s leadership within the health system.

The graduation ceremony, attended by senior officials from the Federal Ministry of Health Ethiopia and Afar Regional leadership, combined formal recognition with cultural celebrations, including regional songs and traditional Afar cuisine, creating an inclusive and motivating atmosphere.

Regional and woreda leaders highlighted the practical and results-focused nature of the training, noting its direct impact on improving health service delivery.

During the graduation, oral and poster presentations highlighted progress on improving ANC 8 Contact Coverage and Improvening Long Acting Family Planning Services demonstrating the training skills are applied to achieve real improvements.

The graduates highlighted that they have already begun working to improve the health system in their respective focus areas as they return to their workplaces, demonstrating the training’s systematic and transformative impact in strengthening leadership roles and health system performance.
